Bingen Blues

This is one of my favourite locations alongside the Rhine. The constant traffic on the river is soon forgotten as you lose yourself in the myriad of tree-lined ponds. On this particular morning the conditions were perfect with cool temperatures, flat calm water, and pockets of lingering mist. I had photographed this tree before, albeit from a different angle, but was drawn in by the foliage in the foreground which created an additional winter feel to the image. I purposefully chose that this was out of focus because I wanted the main attention to be on the tree which was reaching out over the water’s edge.
