A Hard Life

I have visited this abandoned house on a couple of occasions and wonder about the history of the place. Who lived there? When and why was it abandoned? Are there people alive today who still remember it when it was inhabited? Questions that I will never know the answers to. However, I hope that for someone it evokes happy memories of time spent in a wonderful location, farming the adjacent land and waking each day to the view across the loch to the hills beyond. I am sure that life here was hard, toiling in the worst of the weather, trying to feed a family and keep warm through the harshest of winters, a life that people today, myself included, would likely struggle to cope with.
