The Bouncer

Driving along a single track road on a Scottish island the red tin roof on the cottage caught my eye. The sunshine was very bright, not my favoured conditions, but the subject had caught my attention so I decided to find somewhere to park up and walked back to see if I could create an interesting image. Standing at the gate I noticed the small plumes of smoke escaping from the chimney, perfectly highlighted against the clear blue skies. Imagine my delight after setting up the camera to find that a lone ewe had taken an interest in me and had positioned herself right in front of the cottage. Her presence made me think of a bouncer outside a nightclub, carefully monitoring those who wished to enter and guarding the premises from any troublemakers. Not wanting to intrude into her domain I took my image and quickly departed.
